Protection functions for large scale interconnection

Objectives

This work package follows the objective to define efficient protection functions for secure operation of large scale interconnected networks. This means specifically

  • Development of methods for quantifying the operational risk of a large transmission system in a given operational state as obtained from the state estimator.

  • Development of fast and efficient methods for assessing the stability of large transmission system.

  • Methods for certain disconnection interconnected systems in case of imminent stability loss of total interconnection, in order to obtain stability of individual networks

  • The realization of objectives above should consider the possible restrictions on the exchange of sensitive information or situations of no exchange of information.
