Description of work
Work package leader: ESI
WP1 creates a common basis for the following work packages by filtering information and technology, market and commercial solutions to be passed between WPs and ensuring that all technical developments begin from a common framework. This WP focuses and directs the activities in the other work packages by specifying the needs and requirements for interconnection of very large power systems. Within this WP realistic models of EU and Russian networks will be developed for the subsequent use by all partners.
WP1 consists of following tasks.
Task 1.1. Analysis of technical specifics of EU and Russian networks
Task 1.2. Screening and evaluation of transmission, monitoring, control and protection technologies for large scale network interconnection and grid enhancement
Task 1.3. Development and implementation of power system software models
Task 1.4. Development of strategies for grid enhancement measures
Task 1.5. Study of EU and Russian legislature and electricity markets and their possible development in case of interconnected both systems, for creation of realistic simulation scenarios
